YIS — Yacht Infotainment System is FSS Technology’s integrated navigation, entertainment, and vessel monitoring platform for superyachts and luxury motor yachts. YIS aggregates data from AIS transponders, GPS, engine monitoring systems, weather feeds, and onboard sensors into a single elegant interface accessible to captain, crew, and guests on any device — iPad, smartphone, or bridge display — anywhere in the world via LTE satellite connectivity. Beyond navigation data, YIS provides entertainment integration, voyage planning tools, vessel documentation management, and a guest-facing portal delivering personalised content and concierge services.

YIS Core Capabilities

Navigation and Vessel Monitoring

YIS integrates with NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 navigation data buses to receive real-time AIS, GPS, depth, wind, and heading data from the vessel’s navigation instruments. Engine monitoring via CAN bus or Modbus integration with engine management systems provides real-time engine parameters — RPM, fuel flow, coolant temperature, oil pressure, exhaust temperature — with trend logging and alert management for engineering crew. The YIS bridge display presents integrated navigation data in a clean, modern interface that complements rather than replaces the vessel’s primary navigation systems.

Connectivity and Remote Access

YIS uses LTE Cat-M1 and satellite connectivity (Iridium, KVH, Intellian) for continuous cloud synchronisation, enabling owner and management company access to vessel position, status, and sensor data from anywhere in the world. Offline operation with local data caching ensures continued functionality in remote areas without satellite coverage, with automatic synchronisation on connectivity restoration.
